COST ACCOUNTANT

TheCost Accountant is a key member of the finance team and will be primarilyresponsible for the analysis and understanding of product manufacturing costcomponents, inventory accounting, and supporting manufacturing changemanagement decisions based on costing data and analysis. A successful CostAccountant will be professional, proactive and positive when interacting withstakeholders, and leverage prior costing experience to supporting managerialdecision making of the Cultivation Division.

MAINRESPONSIBILITIES

ManufacturingCosting

· Collect and analyze product costs including direct labor, rawmaterials, and overhead through the collection of cultivation data and expensesto determine proper costing of manufacturing

· Analyze large amounts of data to summarize inventory cost activityand report on results, identify issues, risks and trends

· Provide decision making support to company leadership related tomanufacturing costs to support management decision making

· Create new costing models as needed for new product lines andsales channel opportunities

· Provide inputs in projects and cost reduction initiatives as thesubject matter expert for cost accounting

· Identify cost accounting process improvements to facilitatescalability and streamlining

· Key member of ERP implementation of manufacturing costing moduleand standard costing process

Production-PriceVariance Analysis

· Create standardized production-price variance reporting formanagement related to variances in raw materials and labor for analysis. Focus on traditional price and efficiencyvariance measures.

· Provide timely, relevant manufacturing cost-variance analysisagainst monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts inclusive of labor andmaterials variance reporting

· Manage standard cost and margin analysis requests from FP&Aand corporate teams; provide timely response and action to resolve issues andclose requests

InventoryAccounting

· Prepares quarterly bio asset inventory accounting throughvaluation methodologies in accordance with IFRS and Company policies

· Prepare and reconcile inventory rollforward reporting and helpidentify areas of opportunity in bio asset accounting through productionstages, inventory WIP, and finished goods

· Key member of the month-end close team — prepare adjustingjournal entries, perform account reconciliations, and perform COS flux analysis

· Assist in development of overhead allocation methods for COS andstandard costing methods

· Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger

· Complete monthly close responsibilities related to COGS andinventory, ensuring timeliness and accuracy meeting stringent deadlines

· Assist budgeting and forecasting process for supporting cost ofsales assumptions

· Partner with internal business partners to streamline monthlyreporting for inventory

· Assist in the improvement in internal controls related toinventory and costing functions

· Support Controller in identifying areas for process improvement,cost-efficiencies, and financial reporting

· Respond to queries, research historical data, and solve issues tosupport the Controller, corporate and other department leaders

· Help with Ad hoc projects as needed

ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline isrequired; MBA, CPA, CMA is a plus

· Relevant education will be considered together with professionalexperience

· Minimum of 5+ years of Cost Accounting experience and 5+ years’experience in Accounting

· Manufacturing costing experience preferred

· High level of skill using Excel pivot tables to manipulate dataand provide useful analysis

· Attention to detail and strong communication, time management andorganizational skills

· Strong knowledge of cost accounting methods, principles andpractices

· Familiarity with data extraction and/or data base management aplus

· Accuracy, attention to detail, well organized, ability to meetdeadlines

· Experience working with multi-entity books within an organization isa plus

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectivelyinteract with internal and corporate teams, and external partners asrequired
